Instructions for preparing unmounted rubber dies on static cling to mount temporarily on acrylic blocks and how to use the die storage sheets:

MATERIALS NEEDED:  Unmounted rubber die, double stick cushion, static cling, X-ACTO knife, cutting board and die storage sheet (optional) which is a 10 mil acrylic sheet.

1)  With scissors, trim an unmounted rubber die closely.
2)  Peel the release paper from one side of the double stick cushion.  Adhere the trimmed die (design side up) to the cushion.  Using the cutting board and a sharp X-ACTO knife, trim around the rubber die by cutting the cushion straight down being careful not to undercut the image.
3)  Peel the remaining release paper from the other side of the cushion.  Adhere the cushion to the static cling vinyl (not the paper backing).  Using the cutting board and the X-ACTO knife, cut around the design leaving a lip of 1/2" or more to make the removal of the vinyl mounted die from the block easier and to compensate for any shrinkage of the static cling.
4)  Press the vinyl mounted die to an acrylic block and stamp.
5)  Clean the die while on the acrylic block as you would any wood mounted stamp.
6)  Peel the vinyl mounted die from the acrylic block and place it on a die storage sheet.  To have an image show through the acrylic sheet, stamp the images a person wishes to store on a sheet of card stock and secure the two with staples.  Six or eight sheets can be stored in a shallow plastic tray or a sheet can be trimmed 1/4" and placed in an 8 1/2" X 11" sheet protector and placed in a binder.
