ES1181-T "Native American Dancer #1"
is embossed in black on white card stock, colored with markers and cut out
leaving some of the white as background. Background card stock is created
by repeatedly and randomly stamping
JA493-K "Zuni pot, Lg." on tan card stock using a Versamark pad
and rubbing on a couple of colors of Pearl Ex. Fiber is stretched to form
a border by attaching it to notches in each corner. Four of the Navajo
designs are cut from gold embossed on white card stock and placed in the
corners. This is layered on maroon card stock which has been bordered with
MC1177-S "Navajo border" (not yet shown in the catalog, but available)
embossed in black on tan card stock. Card by Davetta Alexander.
MC1172-U "SW Indian blanket" is
stamped with black permanent ink on acetate and glittered from behind and is
attached to black card stock.
MC1174-G "Gecko, Med." is stamped
with black permanent ink on acetate, glittered from behind, cut out and mounted
on a white piece of card stock cut just a little larger than the gecko so as to
set it apart from the background, then attached to the background. Card by

ES1182-P "Native
American Dancer #2" is stamped on white card stock with black ink, colored with
pencils and cut out. This is layered on an asymmetrically cut black card
stock piece which is then layered over turquoise/gold specialty card stock and
a layer of gold card stock. This piece is layered on a card size piece of
black card stock which has been stamped and embossed in gold 6 times with
MC1205-G "Flaming
sun block". Card by Wendy Kerr and specialty card stock from Yellow Rose Art Stamps.
JAMW965-P "Zuni bear fetish, Lg." and MW720-C "Sunburst, Lg." are embossed in silver on rust confetti card stock. MW721-B Sunburst, Sm." is embossed in silver on a formica tag. JA MW964-F "Zuni bear fetish, Sm." and MW718-G "Frame #1, Med." are embossed in silver on a rust confetti card stock rectangle trimmed with deckle scissors. This rectangle is layered on the formica tag. Glass beads are attached to the card stock at the hole in the formica tag. The last bead is a cut and polished rock bear. Card by Margaret Wiggin.
MC1173-K "Cliff dwelling" is
embossed in copper on tan card stock which has been border punched. Three
kokopelli's and one sun are punched out of copper card stock and used as
embellishments on the corners. The tan card stock is layered on black card

Embossable metal is cut to the desired size and MC1174-G
"Gecko, Med." is stamped in black die ink and dry embossed with paper towels
placed under the metal for cushioning. The metal piece is turned over and
the image is "rounded" with a wooden dry embossing tool. Red from a rub-on
kit is rubbed on the image and wiped off so that some of the red stays in the
lines. Lines are dry embossed for a border. A piece of blue Confetti
card stock is edged with a gold Krylon leafing pen and glued to white card
stock. The metal piece is adhered with gold photo corners.
MW657-G is embossed in gold on a
rectangle of blue card stock that has been edged with the gold pen. This

JA429-I "Mimbreno parrot #1",
JA415-H "Mimbreno parrot #2",
MS694-D "Hello #1" and
MC1075-A "Hello #2" are embossed in
copper on white card stock as shown. That is corner punched and copper
yarn is strung from corner to corner and taped in the back. The punch used
was the photograph punch and the tabs to hold the yarn were cut with scissors.
The white stamped card is layered on black, copper and white card stock.

JA500-I "Deer petroglyph, Lg." is
stamped in a flat piece of silver Sculpey II clay. The surface is rubbed
with copper Pearl Ex and sprayed with a glaze after being baked. A piece
of tan parchment cardstock is edged with a copper Krylon leafing pen and layered
on a silver piece of card stock which has been edged with copper, also.
The clay piece is glued over strips of black and copper card stock which have
been glued in an asymmetrical pattern starting at different parts of the frame.

A toilet
paper mold is made of JAMW965-P
"Zuni bear fetish, Lg.". the edges are torn and the bear is rubbed with
copper rub-ons. This is layered on torn brown and Kaleidoscope confetti
card stock which has been edged with a gold Krylon leafing pen. The
embellishments are baked Sculpey II clay which has been stamped with parts of
the background stamp, MC1164-S
"Swirl background". Six layers of toilet paper were laid on the inverted
stamp and each was moistened with 1/2 Elmer's glue and 1/2 water, applied with a
1" foam brush and air dried. Depending on humidity, it takes one or two

JA513-F "Tlingit owl" is embossed three times in different colored embossing
powders using different colors of card stock. The owls are cut out and
each one is glued over a variety of colored strands of raffia which has been
glued to a wallpaper background edged with a copper Krylon leafing pen.

JA522-H "Tlingit eagle" is stamped with a black memories pad on white paper. All the white areas are colored with colored
pencils and a gold gel pen except the mouth area and the waist which are left white. Colors used are
turquoise, jade, violet and yellow. The eagle is cut out and mounted with foam tape on a piece of textured
white paper that has been brayered using a rainbow pad and trimmed with deckle edge scissors. That
is layered over a piece of turquoise card stock trimmed with deckle edge scissors and layered on
yellow card stock. A navy blue frame is cut out and layered to frame the
eagle and touch the top and bottom edges of the card. Layering each piece
of card stock in an asymmetrical pattern is part of the fun of making this card
as it offers an opportunity to have many variations. Card by Margaret
